All Work and No Play!

This morning while trying to wrestle Brooklyn down to get her dressed and do her hair she informed me, with her hands on her hips and a very serious look, that I was "all work and no play!" I just looked at her and laughed. She honestly says the funniest things to me everyday. I need to be better and write them down. The other day she said, "mom, I think I need to call someone tollfree." I looked at her and wondered where in world is she getting all these funny things from. I just think she listens to everything everyone says and then repeats them when she thinks the appropriate time is. What a funny kid!!!

Our trip to Disneyland

This past weekend the Barney Family went to sunny California. We had a wonderful trip together even though the temperature reached 105 degrees almost everyday. The lines at Disneyland were short, we hardly ever waited. In fact some of the rides we were able to stay on and ride again without getting off. The kids were great and full of energy. Each day the kids got up and were ready to go and each night went to bed the minute they laid their heads on their pillow. We left Emrie home with grandma Pintar and Heather, which I had my doubts about leaving her at first, but Nic assured me that she would not know the difference. And I have to be honest it was really nice not to worry about her. She hates the stroller and wants to be on the ground all the time which would not have gone over very well in the middle of Disneyland. So all in all we had a great trip. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Riding all the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure Land so many times and loving every minute of it.

  • Swimming at Newport Beach (I didn't put sunscreen on me which resulted in being burned with blisters and pealing skin.) I learned my lesson!

  • Watching the California Angels play the Texas Rangers.

  • Walking down Hollywood Blvd. and seeing all the stars on the sidewalk.

  • Andrew getting car sick on our way to Hollywood and having to stop at the GAP and buy new clothes. We washed him off with bottled water and a few baby wipes. We were not prepared for that!!

  • Having Breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen and seeing all the fun Disney characters.

  • Being together with my family and watching every one's smiling faces!

First Day of School....

I can't believe another school has started again! Both Nic and I are in shock that we have a first grader... we feel so old! Ha Ha! Andrew has been so excited about going to first grade because he gets to eat lunch and have three recesses- What could be better than that? He is in Mrs. Wilson's class with his good buddies,Taye and Hunter. Life couldn't be better. Brooklyn started her second year of Pre-school at East Meadows and her little friend Kami from our ward is also in her class. Her teachers were all so excited to see her after the summer because they couldn't wait to hear all the funny things she has to say. She pretty much runs the class. It looks like this is going to be another great and sucessful school year!
